And The Saga of Sophie Currier Continues...

It's a wrap. I think. The Massachusetts Appeals Court has refused to overturn the decision to allow Sophie Currier to have an extra 60 minutes of break time during her 9-hour medical licensing examination so that she can pump breast milk for her 5-month old daughter. The National Board of Medical Examiners was planning to appeal the decision to the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, but they declined to hear the case.

There are other facts about this case that have been swept under the rug. Sophie Currier had already been granted special accomodations for dyslexia and ADHD and had been given two days to take the exam. The Board had also offered a private room in which to take the test so that she could pump when necessary during that time, in addition to the already given breaks. They also offered the option to leave the exam during breaks to feed her baby. Given this information, it is understandable that the Board had their initial response. What do you think?
