Breastfeeding Will Help You To Lose Weight, But I Still Recommend Working Out...

Wednesday May 13, 2009

People Magazine recently posted an article on Rebecca Romijn's diet secret...Breastfeeding, but without exercising.

Romijn has lost almost 60 lbs. of pregnancy weight since giving birth four months ago to twins, Charlie and Dolly. She says, "I think within the first three weeks, I took off like 35 lbs. without doing anything! I haven't been able to work out that much because I have twins. It's impossible to get back into a regular schedule."

Now, if you'll indulge me, I just want to put my two cents in. Having a baby (or more than one!) is the most exhausting time of your life--surviving sleepless nights; trying to fit the rest of your errands in around the baby's schedule; attempting to keep a strong relationship with your partner. However, as ludicrous as it may seem, exercising is an important part of your postpartum health. It will help you to clear your stress while shedding pounds at the same time. I don't want anyone to read the People article and assume they can do the same as Rebecca Romijn. She is a celebrity, who most probably works out with a personal trainer for 3 hours a day in her non-pregnant, non-dealing-with-twins state. I don't think I'm going out on a limb to say that she has a higher-than-usual metabolism, either. Working out is the key to losing weight. Without doubt, breastfeeding does help you to get back into your pre-pregnancy shape faster, but you'll feel a million times better if you can exercise at the same time. For the first six weeks after delivery, you can't do any heavy workouts, but you should take walks. After the doctor gives you clearance, feel free to start heavier workouts, as much as you can muster.

(1) Bowtrol Colon Cleanse says:

I found that losing weight is not that hard as anyone would think. It sure takes commitment and following a simple plan but the key element is persistance.

You need to monitor the calories, lose the junk food, sodas, sweets and do some physical exercises. I myself love dancing. And remember to use a fat burner to accelerate the fat metabolism.

(2) Still Lose Weight says:

There is no minimum daily requirement for sugar. Cuts the sodas and increase the water. works for me.
