To My Pregnant Sister (And Friends, And Acquaintances, And Those I've Never Met...)

Monday June 23, 2008

I just came back from my son's fifth grade graduation ceremony, and while I don't intend to sound like I'm giving a commencement speech, here's my charge to all of the pregnant women out there who plan to breastfeed...

Plan ahead! Take a prenatal breastfeeding class and learn all there is to know before you have your baby. Read books, ask questions to a lactation consultant so your mind is at ease.

Learn about the changes happening in your breasts! It will make you appreciate what your body is gearing up to do.

Relax and enjoy! This time spent with your baby is so sweet. It goes by in a flash.
